Why need Faculty Radar if positions must be posted on EURAXESS?

I have received this question a few times. The short answer, is that Spanish universities do not post the positions on EURAXESS, keeping them hidden.  If there is a law that obliges them to post on EURAXESS, they simply ignore it.

Take for instance today, 24 September 2026, Faculty Radar has found 5 positions at Universidad de Burgos which do not appear anywhere in EURAXESS.

In other instances, universities will “post” on EURAXESS but without giving the users any link to the University website or any ability to find out how to apply. This is the case with a position posted by the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, which posted a position for Full Professor on EURAXESS, but there is no hyperlink or any useful information. In this way, the university “complies” with the law. They have posted a position, but for practical purposes, users cannot find out any information unless they search on their own and go to the university website. “Fet a la llei, fet a la trampa” or “Hecha la ley, hecha la trampa.”

Figure 2. The Universitat Pompeu Fabra posts the position for full professor (ECO-CC-TR2025-02) but provides no link or no information about how to apply. Not even a link to the position opening at the university website.
