Right now, Faculty Radar is in beta mode, and we are checking only nine Spanish university websites daily. The nine monitored universities are: Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universitat Autònoma de Madrid, Universitat de Barcelona, Universidad Compultense de Madrid, Universitat de Girona, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), Univerisdad de Jaen and Universitat de Valencia.
An AI agent monitors these universities everyday, and looks for changes, identifying new positions. To obtain reliable entries, I have needed to train the AI agent to monitor correctly. Each university has their own way of posting these positions. Most frequently, the positions are difficult to access, and obtaining the basic 8 fields that describe a position (deadline, department, research area) can require a user to look at 3 or 4 different links or PDFs. The information is spread out. Few universities present the job posting in a way that is easy and digestable. (Although there are exceptions, such as the Universitat Pompeu Fabra).
Searching and navegating the university websites has convinced me of the need for a platform like Faculty Radar. It will still take time to expand the scope to the remaining 41 spanish public univerisities. But we will get there….
And when we are done with the Spanish universities, we will focus on CSIC….
